Mothering Yourself isn't the Problem

Ladies, do you feel like you are being punished for loving yourself? You may feel like you are being forced to shrink, compromise, and put others first, which can feel like an act of rebellion against simply loving and caring for yourself. But here’s the truth: mothering yourself isn’t the problem. In fact, it’s a powerful act of self-respect and resilience.

Understand that energy is the real currency, not money. When you decide to reserve your energy and pour it back into yourself, it radiates. People around you can sense this shift, even if they can’t put it into words. Sometimes, when you choose yourself, others may react. They may walk away, project their insecurities onto you, or try to make you feel guilty. This isn’t a reflection of your worth or a sign you’re doing something wrong. It’s simply that your healing compels others to look at themselves, and that can be uncomfortable.

Don’t feel like you have to undermine your own needs to make others comfortable. Healing is not a crime, and it shouldn’t feel like one. Continue to set healthy boundaries, accept all parts of yourself, and remain honest with who you are. There’s no need to hide your beauty, skills, or talents. God didn’t make any mistakes with you.

Only women have the miraculous ability to birth another human being. Your strength is unmatched. Release any shame or guilt that was never yours to carry. Stand tall in your light. You are worthy, whole, and beautifully made. Never apologize for loving yourself.
